I am finally getting around to telling you about our Christmas! Here it is, in pics and videos.
We did an advent calendar this year. The boys loved it! They called it "the chart" and were excited to do it before bedtime each day.
For all our staff friends we made cookie dough and took it door to door wishing a Merry Christmas. Such a great experience for the boys and everyone loved seeing them!
On Christmas Eve we were invited to a chilly game of Ultimate Frisbee. The boys suited up to play!
Lots of laughs. Gasping for air. Too old for this anymore!
On Christmas Eve the boys got to open a few presents.

With the long winter we tried to get gifts that would entertain them well indoors!
A couple of days after Christmas, Ben called me into Nate's room to see what they had made. He said, "We made a manger for Baby Jesus and we are the angels!"
My mom, sister and niece came to visit just after Christmas. We introduced my niece to snow!
She isn't used to the cold, so while she loved it, it was short-lived.
Ben, however, did not want to go inside. What a difference a year makes!

We attempted some sledding, but there wasn't really enough snow.

My other sister Trisha sent the boys these costumes. The firetruck sounds like "oiyoiy" so Nate calls his costume his "oiy" and Ben calls his the "chefer."

Christmas present - shaving kits!
Ryan and I left the boys in the capable hands of Mama D and Aunt Can Can and headed to Dallas for two nights - the longest we have ever left them. Our wonderful friends from seminary were in Dallas for a short time and this was our chance to see them so we took it! We had a fantastic time just walking the galleria and chatting about life, family and ministry (they are pastoring a church in WA). We also got to worship at a church where another great friend pastors and that blessed up tremendously. Short and sweet get-away, but so full.
Ben called us each night to say goodnight!

If I had a bucket list, seeing Cirque de Soleil would be on there. Just after getting back from Dallas we were able to go and Maren (our dear friend and fellow missionary) watched the kids for us. I loved it!
